Effective date: 19 June 2026
eknumbery (“the app”) is a personal-finance app that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version: eknumbery does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Everything you enter stays on your device.
What data the app stores
All data you create — transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, recurring rules, and any receipt images you attach — is stored locally on your device in a private app database and the app’s private file storage. None of it leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (see “Backups” below). The app has no network capability for your data: it does not send your information to us or anyone else, because there is no server to send it to.
What we collect
Nothing. We (the developer) have no access to your data and receive no information from the app. The app does not use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs, and contains no third-party tracking code.
Device permissions
The app requests the following permissions only to provide features you choose to use. Data accessed through them is processed on your device and is never uploaded:
- Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode (biometrics) — used solely to lock the app so others can’t open your financial data. Authentication is handled by iOS; the app never sees or stores your biometric data.
- Camera — used only if you choose to photograph a receipt to attach to a transaction. Photos you capture are stored in the app’s private storage.
- Photo Library — used only if you choose to attach an existing photo as a receipt. The app accesses only the images you pick.
- Notifications — used to show local reminders (budget alerts and a monthly backup reminder). These are generated on your device; no push notifications are sent from any server.
You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Backups
The app lets you export a backup (a ZIP file containing your data and any receipt images) and import it again later. Backups are created only when you ask for one. Where a backup file goes and who can access it is entirely up to you — for example, if you save it to iCloud Drive, Files, or share it through another app, that file is then handled by that service under its own terms. The app itself does not upload backups anywhere.
Children’s privacy
The app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. It is a general-purpose finance tool and is not directed at children.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it. You can delete individual records within the app, or remove all data by deleting the app from your device. Uninstalling the app permanently removes its on-device database and stored receipt images. We hold no copy of your data and therefore cannot retain or recover it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a revised effective date. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
